yesterday, seedlings from a friend. today, a post on the equals record about friendship and tiny tokens. overwhelmed lately by the incredible generosity of friends and family in these past few weeks as we prepare for our wedding. more on that later, but for now, just a simple acknowledgement that we're lucky indeed.

a few musings on peas and patience over on the equals record today. last week, it was peas, bur last night it was favas. double-peel beans means double the patience. i'm convincing myself they also mean double the reward.

another happy announcement today of a new collaboration. elisabeth thurston fraser and miya hirabayashi of You+ME* have spearheaded the equals project: a three tiered project that's part print quarterly, part online journal, and part philanthropic call to action. i was utterly delighted when the pair contacted me a few weeks ago to see if i might be interested in contributing, and i'm even more excited now to announce that i have a weekly column over in their space. my first installment of city flower: notes on living simply in a big city went live this week. if you have a moment, i'd be delighted if you hopped over and had a read. just be prepared to stay awhile, there's lots that's good over there.
