While James and I were up visiting his family in Western New York, we took advantage of one snowy afternoon to go snowshoeing. Not minding the rapidly falling snow or the fact that soon the light would be gone, we strapped on his parents' snowshoes and slid our way down the slope behind their house to walk along the snowy creek.
Winter is so much more tolerable when there are wintry sports to pursue, isn't it? When James lived out in Utah (many moons ago), I went for a visit and we spent the entire time tramping through snowy woods and swooping down the sides of mountains. I don't think I complained about being cold once.
I'm trying to harness the same goodwill toward the season this year, snow in the city or no.
