James and I had one of those weekends where almost by accident you find yourself checking off the list of things to do in New York in the springtime. On Saturday, a trip to return a misfired purchase unfolded into an afternoon stroll through Chelsea Market and an hour spent doing absolutely nothing but soaking up vitamin D on the High Line. On Sunday, a long overdue morning brunch with friends turned into a day-long amble in parks on this side of the river and a cameo at a food festival that it's going to be hard to stay away from now that it's back in our neck of the woods. There were errands and work in between our wanderings, but it feels so good to have emerged from winter's clutches and even better to be seeing a little bit more of the city than these 240.

On the High Line: bright pink spots of dawn viburnum. Nothing gets this heart a-fluttering quite like the first springtime blossoms.
